Business Advisory

There is more to growing a successful business than just accountancy and finance, which is why we have a range of value adding business advisory services.

Business advisory services tailored to you

Audit and Assurance
Effective risk management and associated controls are critical to business performance and the achievement of objectives. Failure to manage risks effectively can ultimately lead to its demise.

Our risk-based approach identifies the strategic, operational and financial risks where organisations require assurance and advice. We then work to ensure that your systems, processes, people and working practices are all aligned for the purpose of managing risks and achieving your business objectives so that you can move forward with confidence. We identify areas of control weakness and then agree corrective actions, setting out a clear path for continual improvement and risk mitigation. Whatever your business needs, we have the experience to help you improve your systems of governance, risk and control.

Business Strategy and Planning
Whether you’re an established business or a startup, having a defined strategy that is implemented in a responsive way is a key factor in achieving increased business success. Our business advisors can work with you as part of a facilitated process to help you by developing an effective business strategy to focus on the areas of priority necessary to achieve your goals.

We are also trusted by banks and other financial institutions to develop business plans to help get your venture off the ground or generate further funding for expansion and growth.

Throughout the year, we support you to explore any issues and opportunities or simply take time out to focus on the future.

Financial Health Check
We perform financial statement analysis to gain an understanding of the financial health of your company and to enable more effective decision making. Financial statement analysis allows us to identify trends by comparing ratios across multiple time periods including liquidity, profitability, company-wide efficiency and cash flow. A financial health check is useful in evaluating the performance and position of your company, whether there is a positive or adverse trend in performance and to assess the risk profile of your business. This can be a useful exercise if you are planning expansion and / or funds need to be raised. Where opportunities for performance improvement are identified, our team is on hand to help you implement them.
Due Diligence
Make sure you have the information you need before making critical decisions, with our financial due diligence service.

We are committed and experienced in providing due diligence to a range of parties including investors and corporate acquirers.

The specifics of the deal always determine the scope of financial due diligence. However, the process typically includes:

  • an in-depth analysis of underlying historic performance, cash flows, assets and liabilities;
  • an evaluation of management’s forecasts, including the working capital requirements of the business;
  • a review of the underlying financial systems and controls; and
  • analysis of the taxation position of the business.

Our final reports include a summary of the key issues that have been found as a result of our work and our views on the associated risk and implications for the deal.

Procurement and contract management
We want to help you save money on your existing contracts, manage your contract risks better and approach all negotiations in a robust manner.

We have extensive experience in helping clients manage commercial contract risk and get better value from their contractual relationships. We advise and support businesses in a number of ways through our service offerings:

  • procurement and contract management process improvement;
  • cost savings on existing contracts;
  • strategic sourcing, demand management and procurement effectiveness;
  • contract cost and performance compliance;
  • supply chain risk; and
  • outsourcing contracts.
Corporate Restructuring
We work with businesses and their advisers, lenders, trustees and creditors to provide tailored solutions at every stage of the business cycle. We understand that the challenges facing every business are different. Some common issues that we help our clients to resolve are how to:

  • develop an effective turnaround strategy;
  • manage risk by simplifying the business structure;
  • monitor emerging financial risks; and
  • secure an appropriate funding solution.

Reacting swiftly and decisively to signs of decline maximises the opportunity to recover. The sooner specialist advice is sought; the more likely a recovery can be made. We work in partnership with organisations to diagnose and overcome the issues they face.

''Great professional advice and excellent service - highly recommended.''
